When watching the film, there were several questions emerged in my mind: Why did the director use cow? How came a person love a cow in such an intense or crazy extent? What was the role of Boloaris? What was the difference if the director removed the scences of Boloaris? Why did Eslam say “Move it, animal”? Why didn’t the director end right after Hasan’s suicide rather than the marriage of a woman? ... It wasn’t until the end that I got an interpretation of the film and my quetions – the aloofness of society. While Hasan was tied and moved like a cow in the street, some villagers were laughing; the villagers pay all their attention to a marriage, as if they forgot how they engaged in Hasan’s tragedy lately. It seems to me that they don’t actually care what happen, as long as they find something interesting and entertainment as a pastime of the boring life in an isolated village.
